Background / Origin |
KING SOLOMAN wax seal, Ethiopia |
|
Description |
This is a most unusual piece in good condition that
bears the wax seal stamp of King Soloman on the bottom
of the stone carving of his son. Great homage has always
been paid to Soloman and in turn his son Menelik.
Menelik became the 1st King of Ethiopia and with him the
beginning of Christianity Of all the stories of the
Queen of Sheba and King Soloman; her seduction and
bearing his child Menelik retains the most resonance
today. The story is immortalized in the Ethiopian Holy
