Description |

Bukishi Associations for political and mystical power
.The elder’s masks embody the greatest potential and
strength They are known for their distinctive strong
exaggerated forms. Bulging eyes, projecting mouths and
powerful crests, without doubt a power mask. The dynamic
forms symbolize the level of grade of the masked figure
dancer at investitures and visits from dignitaries. Used
by the elders of the Songye tribe to instill social
control, political action and protection for their
